WHAT YOU SAY:
Our April Life App is "Peace: proving you care more about each other than winning an argument".
A life app is something that God wants to do IN you to change the world AROUND you. And by keeping our focus on kindness this month, we will begin to realize how important it is for us to be kind to ourselves and to others.

WHAT YOU DO:
If you have a Bible, open it to 1 Samuel 25:1-35 or pull it up on a Bible app. Help kids find where the passage is located.
WHAT YOU SAY:
Have you ever made a really tall pyramid using plastic cups? There’s a science to making a very tall cup pyramid. You have to make sure you space your cups evenly, and you have to be very careful when you add each level to it. It’s really fun, but you have to be calm and not have shaky hands. You have to be . . . at PEACE.
And that’s our Life App for the month! A life app is something that God wants to do IN you to change the world AROUND you. When we choose to be peacemakers, we change the way we react to people around us. And maybe that will help THEM be peacemakers, too, when they see our peaceful example!
Peace is proving you care more about each other than about winning an argument. Being a peacemaker is a way to treat others the way WE want to be treated. It’s how we can show people a different way to behave.
The Bible is filled with examples of people who were peacemakers and people who weren’t peacemakers.
Let’s see what today's story shows us about peacemakers.

APPLYING THE MESSAGE TO OUR LIVES
WHAT YOU SAY:
Abigail understood that by being part of the solution, she showed she cared about others. Abigail wasn’t the one who CAUSED the problem. She wasn’t involved in the fight. But she got involved so that she could make peace. She chose to be part of the solution.
Way to go, Abigail! We see through her example that God can work through each of us to make peace between others. Remember, we have the best example of this in Jesus. We can follow His example to be compassionate and caring toward others--and help find a solution to what’s wrong—even when we aren’t involved in the argument.
You never know how God might use you to be part of the solution! He gave you a heart that cares about people, and a creative mind so you can find ways to help. If a couple of friends are arguing, maybe you can calm the situation down by helping them talk it out or help them “cool down” and take a break from each other. If you hear some kids talking badly about someone else, you can politely defend that person and talk about their good qualities.
Remember, if you’re not sure what to, talk to a grown-up who you trust. They can help you think of ways to step in and make things right.
Now, let's do a KidsConnect activity to connect with today's Bible message.

CONNECT WITH OTHERS
Take a photo of your family doing one of the activities and post it to our private Facebook group @ Foothills Family Ministries or ask Ms. Lisa to share it lisastewart@foothillsumc.org. Seeing pictures of other KidsConnect families doing the activities will hopefully help us feel connected during this time of physical isolation!
