MATERIALS NEEDED:
The Parent Guide page, a raw egg; a pot; access to a stove; timer; spoon; plate; a raw egg; a sheet or large towel you don’t mind getting dirty; a Bible or Bible App.
WHAT YOU DO:
Open/download/print the PARENT GUIDE.
Gather your family together where you can watch the Bible video and you have room to do the activities.
WHAT YOU SAY:
Our April Life App is "Peace: proving you care more about each other than winning an argument".
A life app is something that God wants to do IN you to change the world AROUND you. And by keeping our focus on kindness this month, we will begin to realize how important it is for us to be kind to ourselves and to others.

WHAT YOU DO:
If you have a Bible, open it to Colossians 1:20 and John 20:1-18 or pull it up on a Bible app. Help kids find where the passage is located.
WHAT YOU SAY:
This month, we will learn how important "peace" is. We will be looking at the connection between peace and God's character, as shown through God's big story. Because of Jesus, we can have peace. We don't have to get even. Instead, we can reflect the character of Christ by caring for others and making peace.
Peace is proving you care more about each other than winning an argument.
Peace means that you know that PEOPLE are more important than arguments. It means that you show others you care about THEM more than you care about winning or being right.
Today is a very special day that we celebrate every year at church. It's Easter Sunday!
And that means that today is the day that we celebrate that Jesus rose from the dead! His resurrection is God’s promise of new life and renewed hope. It shows us that even in the tragedies of life, God is at work bringing renewal – or “new life.”
God always had a plan to make peace with us, and we can see how God’s plan unfolded throughout the Bible, starting from the very beginning … and ending with Jesus. Let’s take a look in today’s Bible story video.

APPLYING THE MESSAGE TO OUR LIVES
WHAT YOU SAY:
The very best example of peace is Jesus.
We’re using a bridge theme this month to remind us that Jesus is a bridge to reconnect us to God. And it also reminds us that WE can be a bridge to reconnect with others and make peace with them, too.
On Easter, we celebrate Jesus' resurrection and a message of love, hope, and peace that is stronger than death. As Christians, we are called to share this “new way of life” every day – a life that is changed because we want to be close to God.
What might this “new way of life” look like? In other words, what actions might we take to show that we want to live a life devoted to God? (ask for responses). I like your responses. And, we can show kindness, donate food to the pantry, share a skill or a talent, forgive someone, or to tell someone "I love you."
As you think about what Easter and Jesus’ resurrection means to you, maybe you can share some examples things that you want to do differently starting today.
Now, let's do a KidsConnect activity to connect with today's Bible message.

CONNECT WITH OTHERS
Take a photo of your family doing one of the activities and post it to our private Facebook group @ Foothills Family Ministries or ask Ms. Lisa to share it lisastewart@foothillsumc.org. Seeing pictures of other KidsConnect families doing the activities will hopefully help us feel connected during this time of physical isolation!
