The Parent Guide page printed, timer, two sheets paper, two pencils/pens, a Bible or Bible App.
WHAT YOU DO:
Open/download/print the PARENT GUIDE.
Gather your family together where you can watch the Bible video and you have room to do the activities.
WHAT YOU SAY:
Our December Life App is "Christmas: Celebrating Jesus, God's Greatest Gift".
A life app is something that God wants to do IN you to change the world AROUND you. And by keeping our focus on Jesus this month, we will begin to realize how that can help us bring hope, peace, joy, and love to ourselves and others!

WHAT YOU DO:
If you have a Bible, open it to Luke 1:26-56, or pull it up on a Bible App. Help kids find where the passage is located.
WHAT YOU SAY:
Christmas means celebrating Jesus, God’s greatest gift.
Last week we talked about the hope we can have because God kept His promise to send Jesus. Today's story focuses on "joy."
I don’t know about you, but during this time of year, I have so much JOY when I think about what Christmas Day will be like. I get super-joyful when I think about celebrating with you!
All month long, we’re celebrating the gift of Jesus and talking about the true meaning of Christmas. You see, Christmas may be big and fancy and exciting . . . but it’s also simple. There’s no assembly required for this holiday. Jesus is the greatest gift we’ve ever been given!
Let's take a look at our video and see how at Christmas, we celebrate how we can have joy because God has a plan for us.

APPLYING THE MESSAGE TO OUR LIVES
WHAT YOU SAY:
Mary understood that God had a plan and a purpose for her life—and that gave her great joy!
It must have been pretty shocking for Mary when she heard the news from the angel. She never could have imagined that SHE would be the one to give birth to the Savior of the world! But while she didn’t fully understand how everything would work out, Mary trusted God. She believed that God had a good plan for her life and that God would be with her, every step of the way.
We can trust God, too. Real joy comes from knowing that God has a plan for you. Even when things happen that you don’t expect, you can find joy in knowing that God is with you every step of the way and that He’s working toward that good plan He has for you.
Now, let's do a KidsConnect activity to connect with today's Bible message.

CONNECT WITH OTHERS
Take a photo of your family doing one of the activities and post it to our private Facebook group @ Foothills Family Ministries or ask Ms. Lisa to share it lisastewart@foothillsumc.org. Seeing pictures of other KidsConnect families doing the activities will hopefully help us feel connected during this time of physical isolation!
