MATERIALS NEEDED:
The Parent Guide page printed, 6 pairs of balled-up socks, a laundry basket or box, 2 sheets of paper, paper/pencil, a Bible or Bible App.
WHAT YOU DO:
Open/download/print the PARENT GUIDE.
Gather your family together where you can watch the Bible video and you have room to do the activities.
WHAT YOU SAY:
Our December Life App is "Christmas: Celebrating Jesus, God's Greatest Gift".
A life app is something that God wants to do IN you to change the world AROUND you. And by keeping our focus on Jesus this month, we will begin to realize how that can help us bring hope, peace, joy, and love to ourselves and others!

WHAT YOU DO:
If you have a Bible, open it to Luke 2:8-20, or pull it up on a Bible App. Help kids find where the passage is located.
WHAT YOU SAY:
Christmas means celebrating Jesus, God’s greatest gift.
So far, we have talked about the hope we can have because God kept His promise to send Jesus and the joy we can have because God has a plan for us, and the love that God has for us because he sent his son Jesus to be our friend and our savior.
Today's story focuses on peace.

APPLYING THE MESSAGE TO OUR LIVES
WHAT YOU SAY:
The shepherds were amazed at what they experienced. They couldn’t help but tell others about it. And as others heard what the shepherds said, THEY were amazed, too! Meanwhile, Mary kept everything that had happened in her heart—to think about over and over.
The message the angels gave that night is also a message for us today, God’s peace is for everyone!
God didn’t go to super-powerful or famous people to announce the birth of Jesus. He sent His angels to a group of regular, ordinary shepherds. And THEY spread the news about Jesus to others. When we remember that God sent Jesus to be our Savior, we can have peace -- the feeling of peace knowing that God is for us and with us.
There are lots of things in life that can make us worried and afraid. But the peace Jesus gives us will help us get through those tough times. When we feel nervous or uncertain, we can stop and remember how much God loves us. After all, He loves us so much that He sent Jesus for us!
Now, let's do a KidsConnect activity to connect with today's Bible message.

CONNECT WITH OTHERS
Take a photo of your family doing one of the activities and post it to our private Facebook group @ Foothills Family Ministries or ask Ms. Lisa to share it lisastewart@foothillsumc.org. Seeing pictures of other KidsConnect families doing the activities will hopefully help us feel connected during this time of physical isolation!
