MATERIALS NEEDED:
The Parent Guide page, paper and something to draw/color with, 4 items to make baseball bases (such as paper, socks, or paper plates), a Bible or Bible App.
WHAT YOU DO:
Open/download/print the PARENT GUIDE.
Gather your family together where you can watch the Bible video and you have room to do the activities.
WHAT YOU SAY:
Our February Life App is "Kindness: showing others they are valuable by how you treat them".
A life app is something that God wants to do IN you to change the world AROUND you. And by keeping our focus on kindness this month, we will begin to realize how important it is for us to be kind to ourselves and to others.

WHAT YOU DO:
If you have a Bible, open it to Matthew 5:41 or pull it up on a Bible App. Help kids find where the passage is located.
WHAT YOU SAY:
This month we’re talking about kindness. Kindness is something we choose to wear every day -- just like we choose to pick out which clothes to wear.
It’s important for us to cheer each other on.
It’s important for us to let other people know that they matter—with our words and with our actions.
But that brings up an interesting question.
Exactly HOW kind do we have to be?
Let's find out what Jesus said about that.

APPLYING THE MESSAGE TO OUR LIVES
WHAT YOU SAY:
Wow! Jesus really raised the bar on kindness, didn’t He?
It’s easy for us to just want to do the bare minimum in the way we treat people—especially for people who aren’t already our friends.
But Jesus challenged all of us to go the EXTRA mile—to show more kindness than we have to. That way, we can clearly show others how valuable they are.
That's why our bottom line for this week is: be kinder than you have to be.
You can show some ‘extra-mile’ kindness when you choose to be patient . . . when you choose to be a friend to someone new . . . or when you choose to forgive someone who’s wronged you. You can choose to be kind to someone when they least expect it!
Now, let's do a KidsConnect activity to connect with today's Bible message.

CONNECT WITH OTHERS
Take a photo of your family doing one of the activities and post it to our private Facebook group @ Foothills Family Ministries or ask Ms. Lisa to share it lisastewart@foothillsumc.org. Seeing pictures of other KidsConnect families doing the activities will hopefully help us feel connected during this time of physical isolation!
