KidsConnect At Home
|
MATERIALS NEEDED:
The Parent Guide page, paper and something to draw/color with, a Bible or Bible App.
WHAT YOU DO:
Open/download/print the PARENT GUIDE.
Gather your family together where you can watch the Bible video and you have room to do the activities.
WHAT YOU SAY:
Our February Life App is "Kindness: showing others they are valuable by how you treat them".
A life app is something that God wants to do IN you to change the world AROUND you. And by keeping our focus on kindness this month, we will begin to realize how important it is for us to be kind to ourselves and to others.

WHAT YOU DO:
If you have a Bible, open it to Ephesians 4:32 or pull it up on a Bible App. Help kids find where the passage is located.
WHAT YOU SAY:
This month we’re talking about kindness. Kindness is something we choose to wear every day -- just like we choose to pick out which clothes to wear.
It's important for us to show kindness, but that's not always easy. It helps if we can remember where our kindness comes from in the first place.
Today’s story comes from the book of Ephesians in the New Testament of the Bible. It was originally a letter written by the apostle Paul.
Let's take a look at why we should be kind to others because God is kind to you.

APPLYING THE MESSAGE TO OUR LIVES
WHAT YOU SAY:
We know what kindness looks like because we know how kind God has been to us. Paul wanted the Ephesians to remember the example of kindness we have in Jesus. God loves us so much that He sent Jesus FOR us. Jesus died on the cross so that we could be forgiven and to show us how valuable WE are to God.
There are lots of ways we can show kindness. Can you think of a couple of ways right now? (ask and wait for responses)
Those are great examples of how we can show kindness.
Now, let's do a KidsConnect activity to connect with today's Bible message.
WHAT YOU DO:
Open/view/download the PARENT GUIDE and do the activities together.

CONNECT WITH OTHERS
Take a photo of your family doing one of the activities and post it to our private Facebook group @ Foothills Family Ministries or ask Ms. Lisa to share it lisastewart@foothillsumc.org. Seeing pictures of other KidsConnect families doing the activities will hopefully help us feel connected during this time of physical isolation!
