KidsConnect At Home
(January 24)

"DIG DEEPER" ACTIVITIES

MATERIALS NEEDED:
The Parent Guide page printed, two pieces of bread and some random food items from your fridge or cupboard, a Bible or Bible App.

WHAT YOU DO:
Open/download/print the PARENT GUIDE.

Gather your family together where you can watch the Bible video and you have room to do the activities.

WHAT YOU SAY:
Our January Life App is "Responsibility: showing you can be trusted with what is expected of you".

A life app is something that God wants to do IN you to change the world AROUND you. And by keeping our focus on Jesus this month, we will begin to realize how that can help us bring hope, peace, joy, and love to ourselves and others!
WHAT YOU DO:
If you have a Bible, open it to Matthew 25:14-30
, or pull it up on a Bible App. Help kids find where the passage is located.

WHAT YOU SAY:

This month we’re talking about responsibility. We’re finding out how we can put it into practice every day.

Responsibility is showing you can be trusted with what is expected of you.

When we live responsibly, we start to see the world the way God sees it. When we do what is expected of us, we also build trust with others.

Today’s story is one that Jesus told His friends in order to help them understand something important.

Let's take a look at why it's important to make the most of what you have been given.

APPLYING THE MESSAGE TO OUR LIVES

WHAT YOU SAY:

The boss in Jesus’ story gave each of his servants a gift, and he expected them to be responsible with it while he was gone. It didn’t matter how much or how little each servant had been given. What mattered is what they DID with it.

God is like the boss in the story, and we’re like those He’s entrusted with bags of gold. Like the first two servants, we can be responsible and make the most of what has been given to us. That’s what we need to remember today: Make the most of what you’ve been given.

Think about all the things God has given you. Maybe He’s given you a talent—like you’re a good artist or good at sports. He’s given you friends and family who love you—and every day, you can choose how you treat them. In every situation, let’s make the most of what we’ve been given.

Now, let's do a KidsConnect activity to connect with today's Bible message.

WHAT YOU DO:
Open/view/download the PARENT GUIDE and do the activities together.

CONNECT WITH OTHERS
Take a photo of your family doing one of the activities and post it to our private Facebook group @ Foothills Family Ministries or ask Ms. Lisa to share it lisastewart@foothillsumc.org. Seeing pictures of other KidsConnect families doing the activities will hopefully help us feel connected during this time of physical isolation!
