WHAT YOU DO:
If you have a Bible, open it to Ephesians 2:8-9, or pull it up on a Bible App. Help kids find where the passage is located.
WHAT YOU SAY:
This month we’re talking about faith. Faith is trusting in what you CAN’T see because of what you CAN see.
Sure, we can’t see Jesus with our eyes. But we can put our FAITH in Jesus because we know who He is and what He’s done. When we put our FOCUS on Jesus, we start to understand how good He is. We realize that we can trust Him completely. That, my friends, is a gift!
We’ve talked a lot recently about a man named Paul, who was also called Saul. Paul traveled around and shared the message of Jesus with people all over the place. He also wrote a bunch of letters to encourage the believers in different churches. Many of his letters became books of the Bible.
One of Paul’s letters was to the people in Ephesus. We call it the book of Ephesians.
In today's Bible message, we get to see a real life example of what it means to receive the gift of God's grace and that Jesus is a gift for everyone.

APPLYING THE MESSAGE TO OUR LIVES
WHAT YOU SAY:
Here’s the really good news. We don’t have to do everything perfectly to fit in. God loves us and accepts us, no matter what we’ve done or will do. We don't need to try to earn His love.
Everyone messes up. Everyone. It’s easy for us to think everyone else seems better than us, but they aren’t. We all mess up and make mistakes. That’s why God gave us the best gift ever when He gave us Jesus.
That means that when we put our trust in Jesus, God FORGIVES us of all the wrong things we’ve done and will do.
Of course, as we follow Jesus, we’re going to mess up. When we do, we can say we’re sorry and accept God’s forgiveness that we have through Jesus. We should always try to live the way God wants us to. We should always try to do the right thing. We should always do our best to treat others with love and kindness.
But we don’t do those good things just to EARN God's love. We do those good things because we already know how much God loves us! Every day, we can choose to live His way because He loves us and is shaping us into the people we were created to be.
Let's do a KidsConnect activity to focus on how Jesus changes the way we see others.
WHAT YOU DO:
Open/view/download the PARENT GUIDE and do the activities together.

CONNECT WITH OTHERS
Take a photo of your family doing one of the activities and post it to our private Facebook group @ Foothills Family Ministries or ask Ms. Lisa to share it lisastewart@foothillsumc.org. Seeing pictures of other KidsConnect families doing the activities will hopefully help us feel connected during this time of physical isolation!
