Gather your family together where you can watch the Bible video and you have room to do the activities. WHAT YOU SAY: Our June Life App is "Faith". A life app is something that God wants to do IN you to change the world AROUND you. WHAT YOU DO:
If you have a Bible, open it to Acts 9:1-9, or pull it up on a Bible App. Help kids find where the passage is located. WHAT YOU SAY: This month we’re talking about faith. Faith is trusting in what you CAN’T see because of what you CAN see. Faith is kind of like the wind. We can see what the wind DOES; we see the branches on the trees moving, and things being blown around. We can feel the wind on our faces when we stand outside like this. We can sometimes even HEAR the wind. But we can’t see it. We know it’s there because we can see what it does. Faith works the same way. We can’t SEE God, but when we take a closer look. we can see the things that God has created. We can see what God has done in people’s lives all throughout history. We can even see what He’s doing in our lives today. You see, faith is all about believing in things that you CAN’T see because of what you CAN see. We can’t see God, but we CAN read about people who came before us who followed God. Today, we get to talk about a really important person who actually wrote most of what we call the New Testament of the Bible. You might know him by the name, Paul. But he also went by the name, Saul. Let's watch today's message and see what we can learn about God from the story of Saul. Show this video: APPLYING THE MESSAGE TO OUR LIVES
WHAT YOU SAY: Saul’s life dramatically changed that day. Even though he was now physically blind, he was able to see everything in a completely new way—all because of Jesus. Everything that Saul THOUGHT he knew about Jesus changed that day. He would never be the same! God can change the way we see Him—and the way we see the world around us, too. Just as Saul's eyes were opened, God opens our eyes, too, in lots of different ways. That's why this passage from the Bible reminds us that knowing Jesus changes the way you see everything. If you think about it, God has been helping people see Him all throughout His Story. From the very beginning, He’s been helping people see the world in a new way. It’s still true today. Sometimes God can speak to you through something that you experience—like when you spend time in nature and see what a beautiful world He made. Or you listen to a song that reminds you how much He loves you. Sometimes, when you go through something really tough in life, you realize how important it is that God is always with You. Let's do a KidsConnect activity to remind us that knowing Jesus changes the way you see everything. WHAT YOU DO: Open/view/download the PARENT GUIDE and do the activities together. |

CONNECT WITH OTHERS Take a photo of your family doing one of the activities and post it to our private Facebook group @ Foothills Family Ministries or ask Ms. Lisa to share it lisastewart@foothillsumc.org. Seeing pictures of other KidsConnect families doing the activities will hopefully help us feel connected during this time of physical isolation! |
