JUNE 28 -- BIBLE STORY SUMMARY

We finish the month in Acts 10 as we pick up Peter’s story. Through a pretty crazy dream and encounter with a non-Jewish follower of Jesus, Peter learns that the message of Jesus if for everyone. Peter had to change his mind about Gentiles because God was now including them in what He was doing in the world through Jesus.

That's why our Bottom Line is: Knowing Jesus changes the way you see others.

We might not always get along with everyone, but Jesus can help us see each other the way God sees them. God loves each and every one of us just as He’s made us. We should love and accept each other just as God loves and accepts us.

Our culture is saturated with parenting resources that educate us about family issues. Every parent struggles with how to assimilate what they know into daily practice. Just knowing more doesn’t make you a better parent.

It’s not what you give to your kids.
Most parents will pay any price to provide what they think their kids need physically. It is easy to become so preoccupied striving for a better lifestyle, education, or neighborhood that you miss what really matters . . .

Quiet Time:

Remind your child, "you can know Jesus even though you've never seen Him."

What are some things you believe in but can't see?

Gravity -- when you jump, you always come back down;

The wind -- you can't see wind, but you can feel it and watch it blowing other things;

Faith -- you can read examples in the Bible of how people grew stronger (or weaker) in their faith when they turned away from God.

What about these?
