KidsConnect At Home
(June 6)

"DIG DEEPER" ACTIVITIES

MATERIALS NEEDED:
The Parent Guide page, 8 index cards or squares of paper, something to write with, two sheets of paper, a Bible or Bible App.

WHAT YOU DO:
Open/download/print the PARENT GUIDE.

Gather your family together where you can watch the Bible video and you have room to do the activities.

WHAT YOU SAY:
Our June Life App is "Confidence: learning to see yourself the way God sees you." True confidence should be build on something that lasts forever--God's never ending love for us. And nowhere is this more evident than in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. And when you put your confidence in Jesus, you can truly see yourself as God sees you.

A life app is something that God wants to do IN you to change the world AROUND you. And by keeping our focus on kindness this month, we will begin to realize how important it is for us to be kind to ourselves and to others.
WHAT YOU DO:
If you have a Bible, open it to
John 3:16 or pull it up on a Bible app. Help kids find where the passage is located.

WHAT YOU SAY:

During the summer, for the next two months, we’re going to find out how to ‘press play’ and live with confidence!

When you discover how much God loves you, you feel like you can handle anything life throws your way. It’s kind of like when you hear your favorite song—it gets you pumped up and makes you feel unstoppable!

In today’s story, we’ll hear a conversation that Jesus had with a man named Nicodemus.

I’m confident that it’ll help us understand how we can have confidence when we build our lives on something that lasts forever.

Let’s take a look.

APPLYING THE MESSAGE TO OUR LIVES

WHAT YOU SAY:

God loves us—no matter what! No matter how badly we might mess up, God is always there to forgive us and help us move on. We can count on it.

It’s when you DON’T know something for sure that things get a little bit shaky, right?

Like when you’re jumping off the diving board for the first time, and you’re not sure what to expect . . . or you wonder if you have what it takes for a tryout or an audition. It can be hard to be confident in situations like that.

But the good news is, whatever happens in your life, there is someone you can ALWAYS trust. God.

Whatever you might be going through, or whatever might happen in the future, remember how much God loves you. Remember that Jesus died for all of us. Our relationship with Him is what gives us true confidence!

That’s why what we want to remember THIS from today’s Bible story:

You can be confident because God loves you.

Now let’s make it personal. Change the ‘you’ to ‘I’ and ‘me.’

I can be confident because God loves me.

Now, let's do a KidsConnect activity to connect with today's Bible message.

WHAT YOU DO:
Open/view/download the PARENT GUIDE and do the activities together.

CONNECT WITH OTHERS
Take a photo of your family doing one of the activities and post it to our private Facebook group @ Foothills Family Ministries or ask Ms. Lisa to share it lisastewart@foothillsumc.org. Seeing pictures of other KidsConnect families doing the activities will hopefully help us feel connected during this time of physical isolation!
