MATERIALS NEEDED:
The Parent Guide page, several sheets of paper, green crayon or marker, something to write with, scissors, several cookie cutters or objects to trace that have a defined shape, a Bible or Bible App.
WHAT YOU DO:
Open/download/print the PARENT GUIDE.
Gather your family together where you can watch the Bible video and you have room to do the activities.
WHAT YOU SAY:
Our March Life App is "Patience: waiting until later for what you want now".
A life app is something that God wants to do IN you to change the world AROUND you. And by keeping our focus on kindness this month, we will begin to realize how important it is for us to be kind to ourselves and to others.

WHAT YOU DO:
If you have a Bible, open it to Matthew 21:1-11 or pull it up on a Bible App. Help kids find where the passage is located.
WHAT YOU SAY:
This month, we’ve been learning about why it’s important to be patient. And that whenever we have to wait, we have to work really hard at being patient and not complain. And that takes practice.
Today is a very special day that we celebrate every year at church. It happens on the Sunday before Easter, and it’s called Palm Sunday.
Our video tells us why Palm Sunday is important, and why it reminds us that we can celebrate God, even when we’re waiting.

APPLYING THE MESSAGE TO OUR LIVES
WHAT YOU SAY:
The religious leaders had studied the Scriptures and waited their whole lives for the Savior to come. But they didn’t recognize Him when He was right there in front of their faces! They had a chance to celebrate and worship Jesus like everyone else did . . . but unfortunately, they let that chance pass them by.
The truth is, God is ALWAYS working in our lives, but sometimes, we aren’t paying attention, especially when we get impatient or frustrated.
So, instead of focusing on what you’re missing out on, or what you WISH would happen, celebrate what God is doing in your life right now.
That’s why our Bottom Line this week is: You can celebrate, even when you’re waiting.
None of us like to wait. None of us like to go through tough things in life. But God can help us grow stronger in our faith when we choose to trust Him THROUGH those tough times.
So, even if things around you aren’t the way you want them to be, you can still celebrate how good God is. You can thank God for helping you grow closer to Him every day.
Now, let's do a KidsConnect activity to connect with today's Bible message.

CONNECT WITH OTHERS
Take a photo of your family doing one of the activities and post it to our private Facebook group @ Foothills Family Ministries or ask Ms. Lisa to share it lisastewart@foothillsumc.org. Seeing pictures of other KidsConnect families doing the activities will hopefully help us feel connected during this time of physical isolation!
