KidsConnect At Home (March 22) |
MATERIALS NEEDED:
A ball, a basketball hoop (or an empty basket), paper and a pencil. WHAT YOU DO: Open/download/print the PARENT GUIDE. Gather your family together where you can watch the Bible video and you have room to do the activities. WHAT YOU SAY: Our March Life App is Forgiveness. Forgiveness means that someone who has wronged you doesn't have to pay. And a life app is something that God wants to do IN you to change the world AROUND you. WHAT YOU DO: If you have a Bible, open it to Luke 15:11-24 or pull it up on a Bible App. Help kids find where the passage is located. Show this video. It includes a worship song you can sing together--motions, too! There's a narrator who introduces the Bible story and also does the "wrap up". https://vimeo.com/showcase/6874412/video/398255789 APPLYING THE MESSAGE TO OUR LIVES WHAT YOU SAY: Our "Bottom Line" from this Bible Story is: Everyone needs to be forgiven. Everyone at some point will do something that hurts another person, and we’ve all done something that goes against what God wants for us. We all need forgiveness. Deciding whether to forgive someone or not is up to us. Forgiveness does not mean that what the person did isn't wrong or that what they said didn't hurt us. Rather, forgiveness means that WE CHOOSE to not hold it against them. WE CHOOSE to forgive them. Thankfully, through Jesus, God forgives us, no matter what we’ve done. We can be like the father in today's Bible story and choose to forgive. Let's do some KidsConnect games to help us learn our memory verse and to remember that everyone needs to be forgiven. WHAT YOU DO: Open/view/download the PARENT GUIDE and do the activities together. ![]()

CONNECT WITH OTHERS Take a photo of your family doing one of the activities and post it to our private Facebook group @ Foothills Family Ministries or ask Ms. Lisa to share it lisastewart@foothillsumc.org. Seeing pictures of other KidsConnect families doing the activities will hopefully help us feel connected during this time of physical isolation! |
