Gather your family together where you can watch the Bible video and you have room to do the activities.
WHAT YOU SAY:
Our May Life App is "Commitment: making a plan and putting it into practice." When we commit to a relationship with God, we need to practice reading God's word, praying consistently, talking about God with others to learn more about God, and living out our faith every day -- not just on Sundays. It sounds like a lot, but actually all of these things can be practiced every day as we're doing our every day activities.
A life app is something that God wants to do IN you to change the world AROUND you. And by keeping our focus on kindness this month, we will begin to realize how important it is for us to be kind to ourselves and to others.

WHAT YOU SAY:
Raise your hand if you have ever run in a race. (wait for responses)
Hands down. Now, raise your hand if you have ever played a sport? (wait for responses)
Ok. Last question. Have any of you learned how to play an instrument or sang in a choir? (wait for responses)
That’s great! Now, what do you need to do in order to be good at a sport, or a race, or an instrument? (ask for responses)
That’s right. You need to train or practice. And you don’t just practice or train when you feel like it. You make a plan and you stick to it. And that’s called “making a commitment”.
Commitment is making a plan and putting it into practice. And Commitment is what we’re focusing on this month.
It takes commitment to do all sorts of things—like homework, playing on a sports team, drawing an awesome picture with chalk on your driveway, or running in a race like a 5K.
We need commitment in our relationship with God, too. We need to practice to live our lives in a way that shows that we love God and love others!
Let’s see what our Bible message today can tell us about commitment.

APPLYING THE MESSAGE TO OUR LIVES
WHAT YOU SAY:
Jesus said that the most important thing we can do is love God and love others. We can practice that by living out this plan: HEAR from God . . . PRAY and talk to God . . . TALK about God with others . . . and LIVE for Him, every day.
When you practice loving God and loving others, you’ll live out what Paul wrote in his letter. You’ll ‘run in a way that will get you the prize.’ Because remember, ‘we do it to get a crown that will last forever.’ The crown is actually a way of life – it’s something you receive when you let God’s holy spirit fill you with a desire to change yourself and to help change the world around you for the better!
God is always with us. He can help us practice loving Him and loving others. Here’s what we need to remember today: "Keep practicing what matters most."
We’ll be talking about these training steps and practice them all month long. Maybe you already do some of those things, or maybe you’re just getting started. Either way, we’re all training together!
It helps me when I remember that God is with me to help me with those steps, so let’s pray and ask God to help us.
Dear God, thank You for always being with us. Thank You for giving us a race to run, every single day. Help us practice what matters most—loving You and loving other people. Help us remember to hear from You . . . pray to You . . . talk about You . . . and live fully FOR You. We love You God, and we pray these things in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
