Open/download/print the PARENT GUIDE.
Gather your family together where you can watch the Bible video and you have room to do the activities.
WHAT YOU SAY:
Our May Life App is "Commitment: making a plan and putting it into practice." When we commit to a relationship with God, we need to practice reading God's word, praying consistently, talking about God with others to learn more about God, and living out our faith every day -- not just on Sundays. It sounds like a lot, but actually all of these things can be practiced every day as we're doing our every day activities.
A life app is something that God wants to do IN you to change the world AROUND you. And by keeping our focus on kindness this month, we will begin to realize how important it is for us to be kind to ourselves and to others.

WHAT YOU SAY:
We need commitment if we want to succeed—whether we’re training for a race, studying for a test, or learning to play a musical instrument. First, we need a good plan, then we need to put that plan into practice!
And that’s true for our faith, too!
The more we practice learning about God – hearing from God – praying to God – talking about God – and living for God, the more we will be able to act and talk with kindness, compassion, patience – the more we will be able to live our lives in the way that Jesus taught.
And why is THAT important? Well, I think it’s important because there are so many people who need to know that they are valuable and that God loves them. And when WE are the people who show them kindness and patience and forgiveness, then WE are the ones who are showing them that God is Love.
Today, we’re taking a look at a conversation Jesus had with His friends, the disciples, which we can find in the book of Matthew, chapter 16. When Jesus and His disciples were traveling, Jesus asked them a very important question. Jesus asked, ‘Who do other people say I am?’
How do you think the disciples answered? (wait for responses)

APPLYING THE MESSAGE TO OUR LIVES
WHAT YOU SAY:
Peter had the courage to speak up and say what he knew was true. Later, Peter would go on to share the truth about Jesus with everyone he met!
It’s important to remember that we can talk about God, too. We can share who Jesus is, just like Peter did. We can talk with our family members, with our friends, with our KidsConnect leaders to ask questions about Jesus, about the Bible, and about what we believe.
By doing this, we are practicing talking about God. And why is THAT an important part of our training plan -- our commitment to growing our faith?
Well, it’s because God has given us the gift of other people in our lives, and when we practice talking about God with others, we have the chance to talk about questions we have. We have the chance to learn how others have grown their faith and have learned to seek God in tough times and in happy times. When we practice talking about God, we get to learn more about God and how we can share God’s love with others in our everyday lives – through our words and actions!
