"DIG DEEPER" ACTIVITIES

MATERIALS NEEDED:
The Parent Guide page printed, paper and pencils/pens for each person, a Bible or Bible App.

WHAT YOU DO:
Open/download/print the PARENT GUIDE.

Gather your family together where you can watch the Bible video and you have room to do the activities.

WHAT YOU SAY:
Our November Life App is "Gratitude". Do you know what gratitude means? (wait for responses) Gratitude means being thankful. And that we should let others know that we see how they have helped us.

A life app is something that God wants to do IN you to change the world AROUND you. And being truthful is super important because people depend on us to tell the truth. And we depend on others to tell the truth. Without integrity, it's hard to trust anyone, isn't it?

This month, let's keep our focus on being truthful in what we say and do.
WHAT YOU DO:
If you have a Bible, open it to
Luke 17:11-19, or pull it up on a Bible App. Help kids find where the passage is located.

WHAT YOU SAY:

Today's story comes from the Book of Luke.

Luke is one of the four Gospels that tell the story of Jesus’ life. These books are called Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. When you read them, you’ll find out about Jesus’ miracles, the things He taught, the way He loved people, and of course, the way He rose from the dead! People wrote down what Jesus did and said, because they had never met anyone like Him. They believed that He really is the Son of God!

Luke, who wrote the book of Luke, never met Jesus, but was good friends with Jesus’ good friends. Luke was a doctor—so he included lots of great details as he told the story of Jesus’ life. Today's story is found in Luke 17 and shows us something really important about gratitude. This story is about ten men who were very sick.

APPLYING THE MESSAGE TO OUR LIVES

WHAT YOU SAY:

When Jesus told the men to go see the priests, they didn’t know what was going to happen. They had probably heard that Jesus could do amazing things. Maybe they were disappointed at first when Jesus told them to go. But then—on the way—they got their miracle!

It was the one thing they wanted . . . the one thing they thought could never happen . . . the one thing that would change their lives forever. And when it came true, only one of them stopped long enough to thank Jesus for it.

We can learn a lot from this story. There’s one simple thing that ALL of us need to do:  "say thank you."

When someone does something for you, say thank you. Don’t just assume that they know you’re grateful. Say the words! When someone holds a door open for you. . . offers you an extra pencil . . . or saves you a seat . . . those two little words will show a HUGE amount of gratitude.

Now, let's do a KidsConnect activity to connect with today's Bible message.
