MATERIALS NEEDED:
The Parent Guide page printed, index cards or paper cut into fourths, six paper plates or six pieces of paper, pencils/pens for each person, a Bible or Bible App.
WHAT YOU DO:
Open/download/print the PARENT GUIDE.
Gather your family together where you can watch the Bible video and you have room to do the activities.
WHAT YOU SAY:
Our November Life App is "Gratitude". Do you know what gratitude means? (wait for responses) Gratitude means being thankful. And that we should let others know that we see how they have helped us.
A life app is something that God wants to do IN you to change the world AROUND you. And being truthful is super important because people depend on us to tell the truth. And we depend on others to tell the truth. Without integrity, it's hard to trust anyone, isn't it?
This month, let's keep our focus on being truthful in what we say and do.

WHAT YOU DO:
If you have a Bible, open it to 1 Corinthians 11:23-26, Exodus 12, or pull it up on a Bible App. Help kids find where the passage is located.
WHAT YOU SAY:
Today, we’re taking one last look at gratitude. But being thankful and showing gratitude doesn’t stop with the month of November—oh, no. We can make it a habit—something you do without even thinking.
Today we’re looking at something the apostle Paul wrote in a letter to the church in Corinth, which we call 1 Corinthians. In this part of the letter, Paul was talking to the believers in Corinth about a really cool and special kind of celebration.
Let's take a look at our video and then we'll talk about it.

APPLYING THE MESSAGE TO OUR LIVES
WHAT YOU SAY:
Jesus added NEW meaning to an old habit. He took the amazing tradition of Passover and fulfilled it, creating a whole new celebration that we call communion.
Just like we take time out to celebrate birthdays, Christmas, Easter, or even things like graduation, we can take some time to remember all that God has done.
Communion is a great way that we can do that together! For those who believe in Jesus, communion is a way for us to remember that Jesus died for us. The bread reminds us of His body . . . and the cup reminds us of the blood that He shed for our sins.
Communion is just one way that we can get in the habit of being grateful.
That's why our Bottom Line this week is: get in the habit of being grateful.
When we take time to thank God, it reminds us that He’s always with us. It can help us live in a grateful way every day—grateful to God and grateful to the people around us.
Now, let's do a KidsConnect activity to connect with today's Bible message.

CONNECT WITH OTHERS
Take a photo of your family doing one of the activities and post it to our private Facebook group @ Foothills Family Ministries or ask Ms. Lisa to share it lisastewart@foothillsumc.org. Seeing pictures of other KidsConnect families doing the activities will hopefully help us feel connected during this time of physical isolation!
