KidsConnect At Home

MATERIALS NEEDED:
The Parent Guide page printed, a small toy, two small scraps of napkin, a washable marker, a bowl, water, a Bible or Bible App.
WHAT YOU DO:
Open/download/print the PARENT GUIDE.
Gather your family together where you can watch the Bible video and you have room to do the activities.
WHAT YOU SAY:
Our October Life App is "Integrity". Do you know what integrity means? (wait for responses) Integrity means being truthful in whatever you say and do.
A life app is something that God wants to do IN you to change the world AROUND you. And being truthful is super important because people depend on us to tell the truth. And we depend on others to tell the truth. Without integrity, it's hard to trust anyone, isn't it?
This month, let's keep our focus on being truthful in what we say and do.

WHAT YOU DO:
If you have a Bible, open it to 1 John 1:9, or pull it up on a Bible App. Help kids find where the passage is located.
WHAT YOU SAY:
This month we’re talking about what it means to live with integrity. What’s integrity again? (Integrity is choosing to be truthful in whatever you say and do.)
That SOUNDS really good, doesn’t it? I mean, all of us WANT to live truthfully. But it’s not always easy. In fact, sometimes things happen that take us by surprise . . . and we have to choose to respond in a way that helps us STAY truthful.
NOBODY’S perfect. All of us have done things that are wrong. Sometimes it’s an accident, and sometimes it’s something that we did wrong on purpose. But here’s the real question: What do we DO when we’ve done something wrong?
Let's take a look at an example of something that might happen in real life and see how our Bible verse connects.

APPLYING THE MESSAGE TO OUR LIVES
WHAT YOU SAY:
"Being truthful with God keeps you close to Him." That's what we need to remember from today's Bible story.
You can ALWAYS tell the truth to God. You can be yourself with Him. He will always love you and forgive you. Being truthful with Him is what keeps our hearts and our minds close to Him.
Now, let's do a KidsConnect activity to connect with today's Bible message.
WHAT YOU DO:
Open/view/download the PARENT GUIDE and do the activities together.

CONNECT WITH OTHERS
Take a photo of your family doing one of the activities and post it to our private Facebook group @ Foothills Family Ministries or ask Ms. Lisa to share it lisastewart@foothillsumc.org. Seeing pictures of other KidsConnect families doing the activities will hopefully help us feel connected during this time of physical isolation!
